Man Sentenced Over R Kelly Sex Tape Blackmail
A Chicago, Illinois man has been found guilty of attempting to blackmail New York Yankees baseball ace Gary Sheffield with a bogus sex tape, supposedly showing his wife having sex with R+B star R Kelly.
DERRICK MOSLEY - who works as a community activist and preacher - was sentenced to 27 months in jail for charges related to the video which he claimed showed Sheffield's spouse DeLeon Richards-sheffield being intimate with the IGNITION singer before she was married.
Mosley, who demanded $20,000 (GBP11,000) from Sheffield in return for destroying the tape, claimed he was misunderstood and had never meant to blackmail anyone - he was merely offering his counselling services to Richards-Sheffield.
However, prosecutor CLARENCE BUTLER said after the trial, "The jury didn't misunderstand. The jury convicted him of all four counts."
