Magnum Movie Set For The Big Screen

Tom Selleck's hit 1980s TV show MAGNUM, P.I. is being adapted for the big screen.

Rawson Marshall Thurber, who wrote and directed Dodgeball, has signed on to take charge of the movie.

The 1980's series made moustached Selleck a star for his role as THOMAS MAGNUM, a former Navy intelligence officer-turned-Ferrari-driving private investigator.

The big-screen version will feature Magnum searching for a missing friend with the help of his former military mates.

Cinderella Man producer Brian Grazer is teaming up with director Ron Howard's company Imagine Entertainment to produce the film.

No word has been given on who will fill Selleck's role.

Simple stuff - no Selleck as Magnum - no picture worth seeing... read 'Starsky and Hutch'; the film that was magnificent waste of a great opportunity. And if I see Vince Vaughn in this moviue - i will equally abort any viewing. Don't you just see them now sat around the table, 'Yeah, someone who can grow a moustache like that; I know what about that Selleck guy? He was great in Friends!' Some other idiot, 'No i think he's dead'. 'Ah!', said some other film company idiot. 'Amyway, didn't he play this a role a while back in the 80's?' 'Oh, no - yeah!' 'Why can't he play his old character again? I mean the fans would probably like that instead of getting some chinless wonder like Clooney!''Dunno, it's just the rule. We have to take TV shows from the 70's and 80's and just make them worse. We have to build the idea up with oodles of reminiscing, then dissapoint everyone when we show no respect for the original concept.''Ah, yes - of course. I forgot. Right, so Clooney then?''Already signed.''Cool, now did Vince get back to you about the Rick role?'...............................!!!

We have waited a long time to see Magnum on the Big Screen, but PLEASE do not cast anyone but Tom Selleck in the role of Magnum. Why not bring the story up to date and use the original cast. That is the only way to keep the chemistry. Also lets include Lily Catherine now grown, maybe as Magnum's partner. And don't forget Carol, she may be a judge by now.

mr selleck, there is no actor that can replace you as mag.PI, hollywood has a bad habit of doing things for the money instead of the right thing.who could play Capt.kirk other then Bill Shatner, some hollywood idiot tried with Red River with james arness that was a wast of film.then we get to another joke, do not, I repeat do not let anyone but you play in a quigley movie other then you.that would be like jerry lewis playing john wayne. go back to Wyoming with crazy cora where your father { clint walker } and brother {sam elliot }are fighting to keep the ranch. bring all your friends from your selleck stock co to play the bad guys, that would be a great movie, but dont listen to me , I,m just a fan.
