MacDonald Dumbstruck By Dialects
Scottish actress Kelly MacDonald was horrified at having to speak in an Irish accent for terrorist movie ALIAS - even though actors are expected to be adept at different dialects.
And the Trainspotting beauty was further shaken by demands to speak Russian in the production.
She says, "I arrived and said, 'You know I'm Scottish,' but the writer had written the part for me after he's seen me in STATE OF PLAY. They went, 'It's fine, don't worry about it.'
"Then on my very first day, my character had to speak Russian and I thought, 'I'm not doing a Russian and an Irish accent.' It was all too much."
