Lydon Slams New York Punk

Former SEX PISTOLS star JOHN LYDON has slammed New York punk bands, including THE RAMONES, citing them as repetitive, tatty and spoilt.

Lydon, also known as JOHNNY ROTTEN, insists his transatlantic punk contemporaries lacked the original talent of British bands and were deprived of the chance to prove themselves by wealthy parents.

He says, "The Ramones to me were more like STATUS QUO.

"They were hilarious but you can only go so far with 'dur-dur-dur-duh.' I've heard it. Next. Move on.

"The New York scene has always been really seedy, tatty, dirty, old people.

"We were 17; they were 25. The New York bands all had wealthy parents who bought them nice shiny guitars and they stuck RIMBAUD poetry over everything."

	Considering they, (virtually every punk band in the world), owe the Ramones for their entire livelihood, its interesting to see Johnny's delusional take on everything. The Pistols were one big fake party, they got paid everywhere they went, and they were on Major Record Labels. They didn't slog it out like the Ramones or the hardcore bands of the 80's, and when the Pistols did come to America, little Johnny had a tantrum "Wah, i don't like being spat on, wah, i don't like travelling in a bus, wah, Sid Vicious is a junkie, wah, i miss being on the fking dole." They fking broke up after 14 days in America. After getting everything handed to them, they said "We can't take it anymore, wah!" The Ramones were fking dirt poor. The only reason they actually made any kind of decent living was because they played 200+ shows a year. They played more shows in one year than the pistols did in their entire career, and yet, the pistols made more money because they swore on national television. Ooooh good stuff, swearin and cussin over the telly for money! Seriously, johhny's a complete poseur and a has-been. The only regret that i have is that he wasn't in the same room as Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen when she was murdered. And all that stuff he did in PIL? Sucked fking balls. But i suppose its funny just to hear him spew like a senile old c**t. That's all he is really.

	This coming from a tosser who is now so desperate his most notable 'achievement' in the last 20 years is to appear on a program for celebrity hasbeens. How do the Ramones figure in your kids with rich parents theory Johnny ?
