John Lydon - Lydon Refuses To Celebrate Sex Pistols Anniversary

Legendary JOHN LYDON is furious with plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the SEX PISTOLS forming next year (06), as a tribute would go against the punk ethos.

The 49-year-old refuses to commemorate his controversial band, formed in 1976, because he views anniversaries as the antithesis of the reason the Sex Pistols began performing in the first place.

Lydon, who used to perform under the name JOHNNY ROTTEN, says, "Punk was all for us. To liberate us.

"The idea of an anniversary of a so-called movement is repulsive."
