Lucky Seven Stars Get Videogame Club Honour
Actor WILMER VALDERRAMA, former FRIENDS star AISHA TYLER and members of rock groups HOOBASTANK, LINKIN PARK and INCUBUS have become the first members of a new celebrity videogame club.
As well as their other celebrity perks, the seven-strong gamer fanatics have become part of a new club that allows members to try out the highly-anticipated new sequel to the groundbreaking 2001 game HALO almost a month before it hits stores.
The members won their new honour after admitting in interviews they were all huge fans of Halo, and now they'll be the first people on the planet to play HALO 2 as part of the newly-created HALO 2 COUNCIL.
Advance copies of Halo 2, as well as just about every other XBOX game, will be sent to the celebrity gamers.
The members also get a limited-edition briefcase, featuring the latest portable Xbox equipment.
Hoobastank star DOUG ROBB, who is one of the lucky seven selected by Xbox bosses, says, "There are only seven of these in the world. There are probably a lot of bands that would kill for this briefcase."
Hoobastank and Incubus contributed songs to the HALO 2: ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK VOLUME ONE album.
The Halo 2 Council is an offshoot of another Xbox group, the PLAYAZ CLUB, which features 50 members including BRITNEY SPEARS, CHARLIZE THERON and SNOOP DOGG.19/10/2004 02:24
