Lucas Honoured At Cannes

Legendary STAR WARS director GEORGE LUCAS is to be presented with the coveted Festival Trophy at this year's CANNES FILM FESTIVAL.

Lucas will be honoured by the festival's artistic director THIERRY FREMAUX in a tribute to his illustrious career in the movie industry.

The prestigious trophy has previously been given to screen luminaries such as KEN LOACH, MAX VON SYDOW, SEAN PENN, GREGORY PECK, PHILIPPE NOIRET, MELANIE GRIFFITH and JEANNE MOREAU.

Lucas' final Star Wars film, EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH, gets its world premiere at the festival on 15 May (05).
