Loach Honoured By London Critics
British film-maker KEN LOACH will be honoured for his outstanding contribution to cinema by the London Critics Circle.
The director will receive a special award for a 40-year career, marked by movies including KES, CATHY COME HOME and MY NAME IS JOE at an award ceremony next month (JAN05).
MIKE LEIGH's new movie VERA DRAKE leads nominations for other awards at the bash, with seven, including Best Film.
CHARLIZE THERON, NICOLE KIDMAN, ANNETTE BENING and IMELDA STAUNTON are nominated for Best Actress, while JOHNNY DEPP, LEONARDO DiCAPRIO, GEOFFREY RUSH and PAUL GIAMATTI are all in the running for Best Actor.30/12/2004 17:52
