Live 8 Sets New World Record

London's upcoming LIVE 8 concert has been entered in the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS for staging the largest text message ticket lottery ever.

More than two million Britons applied for tickets to the charity extravaganza on 2 July (05) - but there will only be 75,000 lucky winners who are currently being informed by text message.

HEIN LE ROUX, records adjudicator at the Guinness Book Of World Records, says, "Texting is a relatively new concept. There's got to be a first for everything and this one is a great cause."

U2, REM, MADONNA, SIR PAUL McCARTNEY, COLDPLAY and PINK FLOYD are all playing at the London concert.
