Live 8 Phone Scam

LIVE 8 organiser SIR BOB GELDOF is fuming after discovering mobile phone con artists are scamming money out of fans desperate for tickets to the London charity concert.

The lucky winners of 75,000 pairs of tickets to the Hyde Park gig have been notified by text message.

But tricksters are sending unlucky losers a message offering them a second chance, if they call a premium line number.

After discovering the scam Geldof issued the following warning to fans: "People are being conned.

"If you hadn't been alerted by Wednesday (15JUN05) night, you ain't got tickets. Ignore these texts."
