Live 8 Makes Broadcast History
26 June 2005Next weekend's (02JUL05) Live 8 charity event will be the biggest broadcast of all time - with over 85 per cent of the world's population able to tune in via a variety of media.
Those without tickets to the free concerts - being staged simultaneously in London, Johannesburg, Paris, Rome, Philadelphia, Tokyo and Barrie, Canada - can access live footage not only on television and radio, but also online and on mobile phones.
LIVE 8 producer KEVIN WALL says, "This monumental live broadcast is without doubt the largest global live transmission in history - spanning the entire world
and importantly will be the first to truly embrace the powerful broadband internet.
"Everyone talks about having something you can watch on the internet, on TV, something you can hear on terrestrial and satellite radio, and even watch it on your cell phone - well, Live 8 is making this real."
