Limp Bizkit Guitarist Injured

LIMP BIZKIT guitarist MIKE SMITH has been hospitalised following a nasty back injury sustained during a one-off concert in New York on Wednesday (16JUL03).

The axeman, a replacement for original performer WES BORLAND, was playing at the city's WEBSTER HALL when he jumped mid-set and landed awkwardly. Doctors have diagnosed him as having a pinched nerve.

Despite his injuries, Smith was pronounced fit enough to perform at the band's SUMMER SANITARIUM show in Maryland two days later (18JUL03).

Vocalist FRED DURST says of his new recruit, "Mike is off the hook and we're just happy to be back in the mix, and it's time to take back the title. He just fits in right. When you see him onstage, he backs it up."
