Lil' Kim's Trial Postponed
Hip-hop beauty LIL' KIM's trial on charges she lied to a grand jury has been postponed by a federal judge to give her lawyers more time to review the prosecution's evidence.
The Lady Marmalade rapper, real name KIMBERLEY JONES, was indicted in April (04) for perjury and obstruction of justice, stemming from her alleged involvement in a 2001 shooting outside the offices of New York radio station HOT 97.
Kim's former manager and co-defendant, DAMION BUTLER, has been indicted for allegedly shooting a weapon during the incident. She is accused of telling the grand jury that Butler was not present.
During yesterday's (28JUL04) hearing, a new trial date was set for 28 February (05) three months after the original November (04) date, according to her attorney Mel Sachs, who says, "Kim has been unfairly accused and unjustly charged.
"She has been wrongfully targeted and singled out because of who she is in the music industry."29/07/2004 02:39
