Levert Plans To Fight
01 March 2005LATEST: R+B star Gerald Levert is looking forward to fighting drink driving and resisting arrest charges in court because he's convinced he's innocent.
A defiant Levert has released a statement through his attorney in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was arrested last week (25FEB05).
The statement reads, "The allegations against Mr Levert have no merit whatsoever. In compliance with the law, Mr Levert is eagerly awaiting his day in court so that he can not only show his community and his fans that he is not guilty of any of these charges but so he can also be fully exonerated."
The 38-year-old was arrested during a confrontation with police at a traffic intersection in downtown Cleveland after he was cited on charges of driving under the influence and impeding the flow of traffic.
