Lee Roth Aiming To Change Radio

Rock star DAVID LEE ROTH has no fears about replacing shock jock HOWARD STERN on the Infinity radio network, because his life experience sets him apart from other DJs.

The former VAN HALEN singer, who left the band in 1985 to pursue his solo career, began broadcasting at 6am EST this morning (03JAN05) and insists his unique sense of humour will endear him to listeners.

He tells the New York Daily News, "My background is utterly different from everyone else on the radio. The average host has spent the last 30 years talking into a microphone in a room without a window.

"My life for the last 30 years has been international adventure and intrigue. Look, I can bond with a fire hydrant if I have to but I'm not a comedian. I have a sense of humour, but with a lot of things it's a New York sense of humour. Like, It's funny, but it ain't funny."

I don't think that it's bad, cause I've heard worse. I just don't think that he's funny. and we are use to laughing out loud. Sorry Dave, nice try.

Dave's show is EXCELLENT! Great way to begin the day with your coffee! DLR stated that he NEVER tried to "replace" STERN's format..he was very clear about this...apparently some people don't read or listen properly and have unrealistic expectations of how his format should be, upset about STERN going to Satellite or simply the usual Van Hagar followers finding opportunity to do their DLR bashing. For these individuals, DLR puts these callers in-check with his unique style of psychology by allowing them airtime to speak their mind...which is usually defused immediately.Dave's format is wide open, not rigged. He delivers with a sense of humor, proper timing to be serious with a sensitive topic and has compassion for the callers and his fans. DLR's experiences and knowledge are mind boggling and his opinions are interesting. Dave is well read and stays focused on today's politics and controversial issues.MUCH LUCK & SUCCESS TO DAVID LEE ROTH...He's so much more than the Greatest frontman of Classic Van Halen.

Just terrible. I wanted to give the show a chance, listen all week and make up my mind. I could not make it through ten minutes of his mindless meandering. I'm out.

I think Dave is excellent compare to his predecessor...stern was about being against everything.. and really focusing on shocking... then again if you like talking about pooh makes you laugh...Anyway Roth is growing everyday and is filling a gap in the radio industry, which is LIVE performance.ROTH ON!
