Director ANG LEE refused to censor the gay scenes in his new film BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN - because he won't pander to religious and conservative viewers.
The Taiwanese film-maker believes if he stopped to think about the opinions of every conceivable minority group he wouldn't get very far.
He says, "The religious right don't have to see the movie. What am I going to do? Stop making the movie because of that?
"I cannot think, 'What are the Conservatives going to think?' or, 'Are gay people happy with it?', or 'Is it too little or too much?'
"Everybody has a different agenda, and you can't please everyone. I think it's more risky making the same boring old piece of crap."
