Law: Superman Role Would Have Defined Me
British movie hunk JUDE LAW is glad he opted against becoming the next SUPERMAN - as the role would have "defined" him.
The COLD MOUNTAIN OSCAR nominee was the franchise producer's first choice when casting was underway for the upcoming movie, but Law resisted the temptation to play the MAN OF STEEL.
And the acting heart-throb says the prospect of trying to fill CHRISTOPHER REEVE and DEAN CAIN's shoes by taking on the comic book character would have been extremely daunting.
He says, "My greatest fear is that a role like that would define me.
"The big question for me at that time, 'Do I want to be known from here on in as Superman?' I'd feel the same way about being JAMES BOND. They are iconic characters, and there is also pressure in stepping into someone else's tights."04/05/2004 09:07
