Avril Lavigne - Lavigne And Whibley Engaged

Pop punk lovebirds AVRIL LAVIGNE and DERYCK WHIBLEY got engaged at the weekend (25/26JUN05).

The SUM 41 frontman proposed in Europe where he is accompanying the SK8R BOI singer on tour, according to American magazine Us Weekly.

The Canadian pair, who have been dating for a year, were reported to have got engaged in 2004 - claims that were subsequently denied.

This time publicists for the pair have confirmed the engagement, the magazine reports.

Whibley and Lavigne live together in a Los Angeles home they bought last year (04).
