Latin Honours For Carlos Santana
Veteran rocker Carlos Santana has been awarded the 2004 LATIN RECORDING ACADEMY person of the year accolade.
The guitarist - who has sold over 80 million records and is a member of the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME - will be honoured for his social, professional and cultural achievements at the fifth annual Latin Grammy Awards held on 1 September (04) at the SHRINE AUDITORIUM in Los Angeles.
Kind-hearted Santana last year (03) donated the proceeds from the American leg of his tour to ARTISTS OF NEW SOUTH AFRICA, a charity which donates money to AIDS sufferers.
And, in 1998, the 56-year-old founded the MILAGRO FOUNDATION, which supports young people involved in the arts, health and education.
