Last Wilburn Brother Dies

The last surviving member of country legends THE WILBURN BROTHERS, TEDDY WILBURN, has died, aged 71.

The Wilburns had their own hit TV show, THE WILBURN BROTHERS SHOW, which ran throughout the 1960s and helped build the careers of artists like LORETTA LYNN and PATTY LOVELESS.

Teddy Wilburn was born THURMAN THEODORE WILBURN in Arkansas and joined brothers DOYLE, LESTER and LESLIE as a touring family group in the 1940s.

He joined his brother Doyle in the military when they both fought in the Korean War in the early 1950s, and then concentrated solely on his music.

The Wilburns signed to DECCA in 1954 and scored their first chart hit with SPARKLING BROWN EYES.

Their other hits included I'M SO IN LOVE WITH YOU and WHICH ONE IS TO BLAME?
