Lane Clears Schedule For The Producers

Hollywood star NATHAN LANE has intensified speculation he and co-star MATTHEW BRODERICK will return to Broadway, New York, for THE PRODUCERS - by clearing his spring schedule next year (04).

THE BIRDCAGE star Lane enjoyed critical acclaim when he and his FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF pal starred in the first run of the stage adaptation of the MEL BROOK's classic film.

Now, plans for Lane to star in another theatre production - BUTLEY - in Boston have been brought forward to October (03) so he's free to reprise his role as MAX BIALYSTOCK in the January (04) run of the New York-based production.
