Labelle Opens Up Her Home To Hurricane Victim
Soul great PATTI LaBELLE has opened up her mansion to one of her former backing singers after hearing she had been left homeless by Hurricane Katrina.
The singer spent days trying to get in touch with her pal, who she knew was stranded in the eye of the storm in New Orleans, Louisiana.
And now LaBelle's flying her to her home for an extended stay, while she gets her life together after the disaster.
LaBelle says, "She was my background singer and she lives in New Orleans. I gave her a home today. I told her to move in with me because everything she ever thought of is gone."
