Krauss Rejects Lucrative Record Deals
American country star Alison Krauss has rejected a string of multi-million dollar record contracts to stay loyal to her music label of 20 years.
The Grammy-winning singer, 34, signed to Rounder at the tender age of 14 and went on to record 10 albums with them.
Krauss admits she considered accepting a lucrative record contract elsewhere: "Of course I thought about it. Who wouldn't? But I stayed with Rounder because there was nothing wrong with what I was doing there.
"My real interest was making records, and we were making the kind of records we wanted to, so there was no reason to go. I'm really insecure when I'm making a record.
"If I play something to someone else and don't get the reaction I'm expecting, I start to second-guess myself and end up as a basket case."
