Korn Give Troops A Lift Home
Heavy rockers KORN are set to give eight war-weary US soldiers a homecoming they'll never forget when they ferry them from London to New York and then perform for them.
The group will pick up the troops, who are currently on leave in Europe, on 29 November (05) and fly them to their Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City show that night as part of the promotion for their new album SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE.
MTV Europe concert winners will also join the group and their military pals on the trans Atlantic crossing.
Korn frontman JONATHAN DAVIS says, "We already have the private plane arranged and we were thinking, 'Who else can we bring with us to New York City besides the contest winners?'
"We just figured, 'Who really needs to get away and spend a few days in New York City?' So we thought it'd be cool if we were joined by some soldiers on the plane and bring them back to US soil for a real taste of home and some US rock 'n' roll right after Thanksgiving. We're absolutely honoured to do this."
