Knight Speaks Up For Vibe Music Awards
LATEST: Rap mogul MARION 'SUGE' KNIGHT is pleading with the public not to see the VIBE MUSIC AWARDS in a negative light after last night's (15NOV04) stabbing at the ceremony.
Many of the 3,000 people in attendance at the Santa Monica, California, event fled as people fought, tables and chairs were hurled around and a man was stabbed repeatedly.
While the unnamed wounded man is in a stable condition in a Los Angeles hospital, it has been reported that a member of Knight's entourage started the fracas when he punched rap veteran DR DRE.
But Knight is speaking out to preserve the show's reputation.
He says, "It's really important that we don't take a negative incident like this and... do away with the awards."
Police say they still don't have a motive for the fight.16/11/2004 21:10
