Kingsley's Son To Follow Dad Into Acting
The son of 2004 OSCAR-nominee SIR Ben Kingsley is set to follow in his father's footsteps - after landing a role in a forthcoming Bollywood movie.
EDMUND KINGSLEY will fly out to the seaside resort of Goa in India to shoot the new film, but admits it isn't on the same scale as his dad's classic 1982 hit GANDHI - which won the British star a Best Actor ACADEMY AWARD.
He says, "I don't know the details yet but I've been offered a part.
"When I was a child I ran around in the background of a few films but this would be my first part and any film where you spend four weeks filming in Goa has to be good."
Monday (01MAR04) marked the opening night of Ed's role as the knifed Roman Emperor in a stage production of JULIUS CAESAR at London's MENIER CHOCOLATE FACTORY THEATRE.
And he didn't bother watching television on Sunday night (29FEB04) to see if dad Ben would win the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG.
Ed explains, "I tried to stay up late and watch it on TV, but it was better to get a good night's sleep to be fresh for my opening night."03/03/2004 14:08
