King Of The Hill Makers Amazed At Shock Return
The team behind KING OF THE HILL was shocked when TV bosses changed their minds and decided not to axe the cult cartoon, because they'd already started clearing out their offices. Creator MIKE JUDGE and executive producers JOHN ALTSCHULER and DAVE KRINSKY were amazed when US network Fox chose to commission an eleventh series of the animated show in late January (06). They had previously been told King Of The Hill was to be discontinued in November (05), and are now working hard to get back on schedule. Altschuler tells the New York Post, "We were sitting there while the new tenants were actually walking around the offices checking them out, and that's when we got the calls. "We got one call saying, 'You have to be out of there by Friday' - and then we got another call saying, 'Oh, yeah, and you have to do 20 episodes for a new season.' "At first, to be honest, we didn't want to do it because we'd just put a WILL FERRELL movie, BLADES OF GLORY, into production and we were ready to move on. "But our two head writers, JIM DAUTERIVE and GARLAND TESTA, had a passion for bringing the show back, and when Mike committed to it, that was it."
