Killers Sued For $16 Million
US rockers The Killers are being sued by their former manager for $16 million (GBP9.1 million) for an alleged breach of contract.
The MR BRIGHTSIDE hitmakers fired BRADEN MERRICK in May (05), but the executive insists he still had two years to run on his contract and is seeking a percentage of the rockers' future earnings.
Merrick's lawyer, Howard King says, "As soon as he made them superstars they decided to stop paying him.
"He's entitled to a percentage of their income for his services as a manager and a producer."
But the BRANDON FLOWERS-fronted band have vowed to "vigorously" fight the claim.
Their lawyer ROBERT REYNOLDS says, "The only statement the band would like to make at this time is that the claims alleged by Mr Merrick are absolutely meritless and we intend to defend this action vigorously."
