Kerry Cancels Celebrity Concert

American presidential candidate JOHN KERRY has axed a campaign gig featuring WILLIE NELSON and BARBRA STREISAND out of respect for former Premier RONALD REAGAN.

The 13 June (04) event at the WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL in Los Angeles was to host a bill featuring Nelson, Streisand and NEIL DIAMOND but democratic hopeful Kerry cancelled the extravaganza after hearing Alzheimer's disease sufferer Reagan had passed away on Saturday (05JUN04).

A separate live bash at the RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL in New York starring JON BON JOVI, BETTE MIDLER, JAMES TAYLOR, JOHN MELLENCAMP and WYCLEF JEAN has also been cancelled.

The DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE is reportedly working to reschedule the events in the near future.
