Kensit Shields Sons From Showbiz Childhood
Former rock star wife PATSY KENSIT is forbidding her sons from following in her footsteps by becoming child stars.
The 37-year-old beauty feels she had her youth snatched away from her when she went into acting at the tender age of six, playing MIA FARROW's daughter in THE GREAT GATSBY in 1974, and was subjected to cruel bullying at school as a result of her rise to fame.
And Kensit is determined to save JAMES, 12, whose father is SIMPLE MINDS rocker JIM KERR, and LIAM GALLAGHER's five-year-old son LENNON, from a similar fate.
She says, "I'd never let my children go into acting so young. My heart sinks when I think about them following in my footsteps.
"I didn't have a childhood. It was hard being away from school filming. I knew it would alienate me from people
"I want them to get proper jobs. My dream is to see the boys go to university because I didn't do that, nor did their dads."13/07/2005 01:45
