Kelly Osbourne Defends Jessica Simpson

Rock teen Kelly Osbourne insists Jessica Simpson is nowhere near as unintelligent as she often appears on her reality show.

Simpson, who stars in Newlyweds: NICK AND JESSICA with her husband NICK LACHEY, has been the focus of much mockery since the show's autumn (03) debut, for - among other things - failing to know the difference between chicken and tuna and thinking buffalo wings were made from buffalo meat.

But Kelly, star of reality show The Osbournes, believes clever editing is to blame for Simpson's dizzy image.

She says, "I've met Jessica a few times. She's so nice and I think they make her look... that's not how she really is when I've met her at all.

"I know from having a reality show that they edit. They film you all day long so they only pick out the best things. And I've said stupid things where I'm just like, 'Oh my God. I can't believe I just said that.'

"But why edit it? I don't care what people think of me. One thing that I know more anything from being in the public eye is that if people wanna hate you they'll find every reason to hate you and if they like you they'll find every reason to like you."
