Kanye West Scores His Own Record Label
Rising hip-hop star Kanye West is quickly reaping the success of his debut album COLLEGE DROPOUT - he's getting his own record label from bosses at INTERSCOPE and ROC-A-FELLA.
West, 26, is getting the deal after seeing 450,000 copies of his recently-released album sold in just a week.
Interscope's Jimmy Iovine and Roc-A-Fella's Damon Dash are negotiating with West's manager, Benny Medina for the deal, which will include merchandising and a production clause.
West produced Alicia Keys' latest hit single, YOU DON'T KNOW MY NAME.
