Kane Sadly Missed By New York Dolls
NEW YORK DOLLS frontman DAVID JOHANSEN is still devastated by the death of his bandmate ARTHUR 'KILLER' KANE, who passed away two years ago (04). Johansen is convinced he will never again meet someone with the same strength of character as bassist Kane, who lost his battle with leukaemia in July 2004, shortly after the group reformed. The singer says, "Arthur was such an extraordinary person. When I first met him, I was astonished by his insight and perception of existence - he just really tickled me. "Then he went through that whole booze thing... and then when we got back together again, he was so brilliant, and I was thinking, 'Oh man, I love this guy so much, it's going to be great to spend some time with him...' and then, poof! I was really bummed out when he died."
