Kaiser Chiefs Dominate Nme Awards Nominations

British rockers KAISER CHIEFS are set to dominate the ShockWaves NME Awards next month (FEB06), after landing a record seven nominations.

The I PREDICT A RIOT hitmakers, who opened the Philadelphia Live 8 concert last year (05), are named in the Best British Band, Best Album, Best Live Band, Best Track, Best Video, Best Website and Best DVD categories for the British music weekly's annual gongs.

Breakthrough sensations ARCTIC MONKEYS and Scottish art-rockers FRANZ FERDINAND have received four nods each for the 23 February (06) ceremony which will reportedly be hosted by KANYE WEST and ORDINARY BOYS frontman SAMUEL PRESTON..

KATE MOSS' ex-boyfriend PETE DOHERTY is up for two awards with his band BABYSHAMBLES - but it is unknown if he will be able to attend as he faces sentencing after pleading guilty to drug possession charges.
