Judd, Whoopi + Sarandon Join Women's Rights Protest

Ashley Judd, Whoopi Goldberg and Susan Sarandon were among the 800,000 women who marched on Washington DC at the weekend (25APR04) to protest abortion rights.

The stars joined SENATOR HILARY CLINTON and media mogul Ted Turner to speak at the event, which was held in a bid to ensure abortion remains legal in America.

The American women were supported by activists from 60 other countries.

The protestors targeted President George W Bush, like-minded officials in federal and state government and religious conservatives who are fighting to ban abortion.
