Judas Priest Drummer Jailed

LATEST: Former Judas Priest drummer DAVID HOLLAND has been jailed for eight years following his conviction for attempted rape of his teenage drum pupil.

The 55-year-old musician was found guilty of attempted rape and five counts of indecent assault on a 17-year-old boy, with special needs, at NORTHAMPTON CROWN COURT, in Northamptonshire, England last month (23JAN04) and was sentenced today (13FEB04).

Judge CHARLES WIDE told Holland today, "The teenager was a boy with a very, very troubled past.

"You planned this abuse by grooming his parents and him through the careful construction of the opportunity to abuse and the common factors of detaching a boy from his parents by giving him cigarettes, alcohol and porn."

The court heard assaults began in Spring 2002 when the boy began staying over at Holland's cottage, where the drummer forced the teen to perform sex acts on him before assaulting him.
