Jones: The Press Don't Bother Me
STEREOPHONICS rocker KELLY JONES refuses to let bad album reviews bring him down, because he measures his band's success by the vast number of records they've shifted.
The gravel-voiced singer slammed the British music media in hit song MR WRITER three years ago in response to his growing unrest at their harsh criticisms, but now he insists journalists' comments don't bother him.
He says, "We don't get caught up in what the press think - we make records that please us, and we're selling a lot, so we're making somebody happy.
"We stopped reading the press around the time of Mr Writer."
However, Jones is still confident the press will eventually turn in their favour: "I think if we stick around long enough it'll come."06/02/2004 17:29
