John Plans A Birthday Treat For Midler

SIR Elton John is planning a special treat for Bette Midler's 60th birthday on 31 October (05) - he'll perform at a benefit gala held in her honour.

Midler plans to combine her big night with the 10th anniversary of the New York Restoration Project, which she founded to restore city gardens and community parks.

Sting will also be honoured at the event for his environmental work.

The party will feature a celebrity auction with items ranging from the chance to record with Faith Hill to the opportunity to go backstage at an upcoming Dave Matthews Band concert.
