Stunning actress Scarlett Johansson has jetted out to South Africa to check up on boyfriend Jared Leto.

The LOST IN TRANSLATION star decided to make the journey after she heard rumours the Fight Club actor was getting very friendly with his Lord of War co-star TANIT PHOENIX.

An insider says, "The pair became friendly as soon as filming began and really hit it off. Tanit is from Cape Town and has been showing Jared around. It's not surprising that Scarlett has been visited by the green eyed monster.

"Tanit does have a boyfriend and insists nothing has happened between her and Jared. They've just been keeping each other company during the shoot. But obviously Scarlett's taking no chances."

Since they began dating this summer (04), the couple have split their time between Manhattan and London, where Johansson has been working with WOODY ALLEN.

The source continues, "Jared and Scarlett are both so busy with their careers it's tough for them to see each other. Obviously Jared is going to make friends with other people.

"He's been spotted hanging out with Tanit at Cape Town club Purgatory, and he's also taken her rock climbing - one of his favourite pastimes."
