Pop star Jessica Simpson's horrific Hallowe'en (04) root canal surgery has featured on the new series of her hit reality TV show NEWLYWEDS: NICK AND JESSICA.

The pretty blonde is reprimanded on the show by dentist-to-the stars WILLIAM DORFMAN, who briefly dated Teri Hatcher last year (04), for not having regular check-ups and failing to floss.

And after telling her, "You waited way too long on this one," Dr Dorfman recommends root canal surgery.

Simpson was shown undergoing the painful procedure on the latest episode of the show, which aired on Wednesday night (02FEB05), as husband Nick Lachey watched.

Unsympathetic Lachey said, "Let this be a lesson to you and your children - tell them one day to go to the dentist."
