Jerry Springer Picks Up Prestigious Theatre Awards
A foul-mouthed opera about Jerry Springer's controversial talk show has surprised theatre circles by landing eight nominations for Britain's LAURENCE OLIVIER AWARDS.
But composer RICHARD THOMAS' JERRY SPRINGER - THE OPERA could face tough competition at the award ceremony on 22 February (04) from two other musicals which have proved box office hits in London: Ragtime and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE.
Kenneth Branagh is among the favourites for the best actor award and HELEN MIRREN, could be in line for the best actress award.
