Jazz Bassist Lesberg Dies
Veteran jazz star JACK LESBERG has died from complications from Alzheimer's disease. He was 85.
Double bassist Lesberg performed with many jazz greats including Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, BENNY GOODMAN and EDDIE CONDON in a career spanning 70 years.
In 1942, he survived the Boston Coconut Grove club fire which killed 492 people and injured scores more.
Lesberg died on 17 September (05) at the Lillian Booth Actors' Home in Englewood, New Jersey. He is survived by two daughters, three grandsons and LINDA REILLY, his companion of 25 years.
