Jarmusch Keeps Producers In Line
Cult director JIM JARMUSCH is so determined to follow his individual artistic muse he orders movie producers to neither interfere nor approach him on set, else he'll quit.
The COFFEE AND CIGARETTES film-maker ensures producers knows he's in charge during the planning of his screen projects.
He tells British magazine Empire, "I tell my financiers, 'I have final cut. You don't come on my set. You don't approve my actors. You don't approve my actors. You don't approve my script. You don't give me notes on my editing. You don't see my film till I show it to you.'
"I have to have those things or I'm not going to do it. I'm very particular about it. And I've walked out of you-don't-know-how-many negotiations."
