Jam Master Jay Remembered On Anniversary Of Murder
Slain rap star JAM MASTER JAY has been remembered by relatives and friends on the first anniversary of his killing yesterday (30OCT03).
The RUN-DMC DJ - real name JASON MIZELL - was honoured at a memorial in Queens, New York, near to where he was murdered in his recording studio by a mystery gunman.
Comedian KEITH ROCK said at the event, which featured prayers, poetry and stories, "We all suffered a great, great loss."
Jam Master's mother, sister, three sons and brother all attended the memorial for the 37-year-old KING OF ROCK star.
The shooting remains unsolved, although homicide detectives insist it is still a top priority.
However, it is speculated that debt-ridden Mizell may have been killed on orders from someone he owed money.
Other reports have suggested he was involved in a drug deal gone bad.31/10/2003 17:08
