Jackson's Lawyers 'Stop' Book Promotion
The uncle of the boy who accused MICHAEL JACKSON of sexually abusing him in 1993 has reportedly been prevented from promoting his new book, by the singer's lawyers.
RAYMOND CHANDLER, who shares the same name as the legendary BIG SLEEP author, released expose ALL THAT GLITTERS: THE CRIME AND THE COVER-UP in September (04), but stopped publicising it last month (OCT04).
In the book, Chandler claims his nephew JORDY CHANDLER received a series of death threats after his 1993 abuse allegations against Jackson were made public.
An insider tells website PAGESIX.COM, "Jackson's heavy-handed lawyers stepped in."
But Chandler's spokesman MICHAEL WRIGHT refused to comment on any alleged legal intervention on Jackson's behalf.
He says, "Something happened, and we scaled back for a few days. We pulled back on doing media in the weeks leading up to the election."
Jackson is currently pleading not guilty to charges of child molestation, conspiracy and administering an intoxicating agent to another boy. His trial is scheduled to begin on 31 January (05).01/11/2004 17:26
