Jackson Questions Race Issue In Hurricane Relief Chaos

Movie star SAMUEL L JACKSON has echoed comments made by rapper KANYE WEST during a live telethon last week, claiming emergency services would have acted quicker following Hurricane Katrina if the victims of the storm were white.

West shocked America last week (02SEP05) when he accused President GEORGE W BUSH of racism for not acting quicker to help stranded African-Americans in Louisiana and Mississippi.

And now PULP FICTION star Jackson has taken his lead as he promotes new movie THE MAN.

He says, "Those people in New Orleans, the majority of them were black and that speaks to the fact that those were the people who couldn't afford to evacuate.

"They didn't have cars, they didn't have the means to get out and because the response to the emergency was so slow, it's easy to look at it and say, `Wow, if there were white people trapped in that place, I betcha they'd gotten there sooner.'"

But Jackson hopes the fact that relief wasn't more immediate when the hurricane hit is just a huge mistake - and not a racist act.

He adds, "The hard thing to say is, `Look, we made a mistake, we didn't do the right thing fast enough.' That's the problem right now."

How come the Democratic busses show up with $$$ in hand when it is time to vote and ferry the blacks to the democratic precincts yet they dont show up to save them from drowning. The Democratic mayor is an idiot who has diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain. The Governor is no more than a Pig in a Pantsuit. Jessie Jackson and Sharpton are the 2 race baiting Johnny come latelys...where have they been for the past 20 years when those poor Louisiana Blacks have virtually no education or upward mobility after voting Democrat for the past 30 years..even their first Black President Clinton did nothing to improve their life....thanks to the fantastic Democratic Party they REMAIN UNEDUCATED AND POOR.. How the Black population cannot see what the Democratic party has NOT done for them, yet they STILL are herded like sheepos to the Voting Booth is beyond my comprehension. One screwball asked why Pres. Bush wont speak to the NAACP...what idiots...why should a Pres. go speak to an organization ran by a racist mental retard like Julian Bond who has called Pres. Bush hitler. This is YOUR LEADERS...KATRINA IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE LOUISANA BLACKS/evacuees....now they have a taste of human compassion of other states. Now they will have the opportunity for upward mobility and self reliance.

Ok, why don't you start ragging on the stupid BLACK mayor of NO who did nothing to get HIS PEOPLE out of harms way? You say this is a racist thing? LIberal democrats and black democrats have run Louisiana for nearly 50 years now, why haven't they made anything better for YOUR PEOPLE? Stop your racist whining and do something about it yourself. And to the people of New Orleans. If you guys re-elect that stupid Governor and Mayor Nagin you deserve everything you get.

Samuel L. Jackson, the trouble with your remarks are that Ray Nagin is black not white so it can't be a racist act. The race card effectiveness Mr. Jackson is coming to a quick close when "some of your own" get into positions of power and you still want to use it on white people. Maybe Oprah will be able to break some blacks of the "don't rat on one of your own" policy within the Black Community. You, by reading the above are apparently not the leader to do it. Too bad, I'm a fan of your movies, and white. Did you know that Jesse Jackson has admitted that he was in a bus convoy that went by the Superdome and Convention Center when the chaos was happening and didn't stop to help the worst chaos of Katrina. Was he afraid he might get mugged?
