Jackson Considers Testifying In His Own Defense
LATEST: MICHAEL JACKSON is considering taking to the stand to deny allegations he molested a teenage cancer victim - despite the fact he's not on the defense witness list.
The THRILLER star's attorney THOMAS MESEREAU strongly hinted in his opening statement yesterday (01MAR05) that Jackson is so furious about the 10 felony charges against him, he's prepared to invite the prosecution to cross-examine him in court.
Mesereau said, "Michael will tell you one time he got a very bad feeling at Neverland.
He added, "Mr Jackson will freely admit that he does read girlie magazines from time to time."
And the troubled singer's spokeswoman RAYMONE K BAIN has confirmed Mesereau's statements were made to suggest to jurors that the 46-year-old may testify.
She says, "They have not made a decision yet. But clearly they have spoken about it."
Jackson is charged in a 10-count indictment with molesting a 13-year-old boy and conspiring to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion. He has pleaded not guilty.02/03/2005 17:56
