Islam Fights For Entry To America

Yusuf Islam is "bewildered" about why he is still refused entry to America and has instructed his lawyers to fight for "justice".

The rocker-turned-Muslim convert, formerly CAT STEVENS, was expelled from the United States last month (SEP04) after authorities diverted his London-to-Washington flight to Maine to remove him, saying he was suspected of ties to terrorism.

He has now hired law firm CARTER-RUCK and says, "I remain bewildered by the decision of the US authorities to refuse me entry to the United States.

"My solicitors have now made representations to the relevant US authorities and I have asked (UK) Foreign Secretary Jack Straw to continue to use his good offices in order to bring this matter to a swift conclusion."
