Il Postino Returns As An Opera

Hit 1995 arthouse movie IL POSTINO is to be turned into a new opera, starring PLACIDO DOMINGO.

Inspired by ANTONIO SKARMETA's novel THE POSTMAN, Domingo will play Chilean poet PABLO NERUDA in the new Los Angeles Opera production, which is due to debut in 2009.

Mexican opera star ROLANDO VILLAZON will play the title character in the production.
