Idol Star Buys Beverly Hills Bachelor Pad

American Idol and X FACTOR star Simon Cowell has bought a new $8 million (GBP4.2 million) pad in Beverly Hills, California amid reports he's planning to live the bachelor life there.

The music mogul has reportedly split from longtime girlfriend TERRI SEYMOUR and has told pals he wants his new six-bedroom mansion to become Hollywood's next party place.

According to insiders, Cowell escorted three beautiful women around the home before he bought it - to make sure it was impressive to the opposite sex.

The new home means Cowell will be a neighbour of his X Factor co-judge Sharon Osbourne, who also owns a palatial spread in Beverly Hills.
